“Vanilla Islands” make collective social media promotion

Islands include Indian Ocean destinations Seychelles, Madagascar and Mauritius

The Indian Ocean destinations of La Reunion, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Comoros and the Seychelles have launched their joint online presence through social media networks to further their collective promotion under the name of the Vanilla Islands. Travel and tourism professionals and the public can now find all information and news about the islands in both English and French on Twitter (twitter.com/#!/LesIlesVanille) and Facebook (facebook.com/les.iles.vanille).
The Vanilla Islands concept was initiated by the islands’ tourism boards in a bid to revitalise and bring greater dynamism to the region’s tourism and to foster greater support and partnership between them. As part of the project a guide on the Vanilla Islands will be distributed at international tourism fairs and workshops.
