Abu Dhabi targets Europe for “exciting” summer

Shows, shopping promos, prizes and hotel offers promised
The organisers of this year’s summer season in Abu Dhabi have announced an “exciting” entertainment and events program, to run from July 7 to September 11, and tourists from Europe are invited.
An eclectic range of international shows, shopping promotions, prize draws and hotel and attraction offers has been promised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, to be held across the city and in Al Ain and the Western Region.
The authority says that the summer season events have been designed to entertain regional and international visitors as well as UAE residents.
“Last year’s superb summer season witnessed a significant increase in the number of guest arrivals into the emirate – up a highly impressive 21% over the same period the previous year,” said Sultan Al Dhaheri, the authority’s acting executive director of tourism.
“We will be looking to build on this success by offering another fantastic array of entertainment and promotions during our 2016 summer season, targeting key markets across the GCC, India and certain European countries including the UK, France and Germany.”
He added: “As we move towards becoming a year-round destination and our portfolio of attractions continues to grow, we are confident of establishing Abu Dhabi as a must-visit destination on the itinerary for tourists from across the world.”
Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2016 will run alongside the Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha holidays as well as the annual school summer break. The authority says that further details will be released soon.
