Asia-Pacific expansion involves more than 200 properties in the pipeline

Accor has told the Bloomberg news agency that it aims to accelerate its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region by adding in excess of 200 hotels there by 2014. It already has 450 of its 4,000 hotels in the region. Air travel within the region is booming.
Around 40% of the group’s global pipeline is now in the Asia-Pacific region as it focuses on China, India, Indonesia, Australia and Vietnam. This includes 63 hotels opening in India by 2014, including the first Sofitel there, and 35 new properties in Indonesia by 2015 making a total of 75.
