Agents: how to sell trips to Vietnam and Cambodia

River cruise suppliers unveil new vessels and tours for 2012 season

Vietnam and Cambodia are increasingly attractive emerging destinations for tourists who have seen many other places and want something new. River cruises may provide the most tempting holiday for people who are intrigued by South East Asia but not yet prepared to have a land-based vacation there. Several companies are now providing trips along the Mekong that combine the comfort of a cruise and the thrill of seeing a number of different exotic places.
River cruise suppliers have unveiled new vessels for the 2012 season. Avalon Waterways has a new itinerary aboard the Avalon Angkor, the Fascinating Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong River cruise, lasting 14 nights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok. Uniworld Boutique has two new Asia itineraries – a 15-day cruise from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi that will lure archaeology fans and a 24-day “grand Asia” tour, departing Beijing and sailing to Hanoi. Victoria Cruises specialises in Yangtze River trips. Its new “Executive Deck” luxury program includes a white-glove concierge service, access to VIP sections and à la carte meals. AMAWaterways has unveiled its new 124-passenger MS AmaLotus, due to sail from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
