Air Lituanica launches Vilnius-Berlin flights today

New Lithuanian carrier starts flights to third destination

A month after its initial launch, Air Lituanica is introducing a direct route today between the Lithuanian capital Vilnius and Berlin Tegel.

During the first month of operations the fledgling carrier carried out 98 flights to and from its first destinations, Brussels and Amsterdam. Lithuania currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union until the end of the year.

Besides the demand for flights between Vilnius and the airline’s three destinations, the company says it has also seen rising interest in connecting flights. The most popular options include travelling to or from Lithuania via Amsterdam to Paris, London, Marseilles or New York.
