Airline stops girls in leggings from boarding

Gate agent prevents teenage girls from getting on plane
A gate agent for United Airlines stopped two teenage girls from boarding a flight yesterday from Denver to Minneapolis, for wearing leggings.
Social media enabled a live account of the incident, harming the airline’s reputation, thanks to passenger Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, a grassroots movement to end gun violence.
“She’s forcing them to change or put dresses on over leggings or they can’t board,” she tweeted. “Since when does @united police women’s clothing?”
The airline responded on Twitter that such decisions were at the discretion of the gate agent, according to Rule 21 of its contract of carriage which says that passengers can be denied if they “are barefoot or not properly attired”.
United later tweeted, “The customers this morning were United pass travellers,” adding: “There is a dress code for pass travellers as they were representing UA when they fly.”
The father of one of the children was wearing shorts, but he was allowed to board without having to change.
