Airport trials ‘toilet paper’ for phones

Hygienic phone wipes trialled in airport cubicles
Japan’s reputation for hygiene is going up yet another notch with ‘toilet paper’ for mobile phones, being rolled out in toilets at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.
Users can pull paper next to the regular toilet roll to give their phones an antibacterial polish. Welcome to Japan is printed on the sheets, which have been installed in 86 cubicles in Narita’s arrivals hall.
A telecoms company, NTT Docomo, is behind the service explaining that the extra wipe will remain at least until March 2017.
Studies show that smartphone screens contain more germs than toilet seats, while surveys regularly show that foreign visitors are always impressed by how clean and versatile Japan’s public toilets are.
