Amadeus to boost Europe as destination

Tech provider teams up with European Travel Commission

 

 

The travel industry technology provider Amadeus says it will work with the European Travel Commission to develop a new solution to promote Europe as a destination. VisitEurope is a mobile app that will help most of Europe’s national tourism organisations to attract more tourists.

The app is part of the Destination Europe 2020 strategy, a joint initiative between the European Commission and the ETC to strengthen the image of Europe in long-haul markets through promotional activities and the implementation of new technologies in cooperation with the travel industry.

VisitEurope will provide the European Travel Commission with a digital platform to market Europe as an attractive destination. The application will be available for free iPad download in the US by the end of this year, with Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Canada to follow, along with the launch of a global web version. The app will enable travellers to share information through social media channels.
