Anya resorts raises luxury ante in Philippines

High-end brand to launch in Tagaytay late in 2015

High-end resort brand Anya will launch in the Philippines late in 2015, beginning with the Anya Resort and Residences Tagaytay. Situated in Cavite province, Tagaytay is a high-altitude destination known for its cooler climate.

Anya Resorts and Residences Tagaytay will boast a modern Filipino design and 251 residences, though the number of resort rooms has not yet been finalised. There will also be conference facilities, five F&B outlets of which three will be managed by a celebrity chef from Singapore, a Devarana spa by Dusit International, and a health club.

The resort will be managed by Fuego Hotel and Properties Management, part of Roxaco Land. Fuego runs a stable of upmarket resorts and hotels including Club Punta Fuego, Terrezas de Punta Fuego, Cauayan Resort, Camaya Sands, Asya Premier Suites and Royal Mandaya Hotel. But Roxaco is keen to expand the Anya name.

“We are looking to have a minimum of three operating Anya properties within the next five years,” said Roxaco’s senior vice president, Santiago Elizalde. “We are considering properties in popular destinations around the Philippines such as Puerto Princesa, Coron, Boracay and El Nido.”

Roxaco is also a partner of Singapore’s Vanguard Hotels in developing Go hotels, a limited service brand owned by the Robinsons Group of Companies.
