Arlanda and Nordic Choice sign for new hotel

Major new hotel at Stockholm airport to offer “everyday luxury”
Nordic Choice Hotels will be the operator of a new hotel at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The hotel is expected to have about 460 rooms and will be “a modern alternative to business hotels at the airport that offers everyday luxury”, airport operator Swedavia says.
The hotel is “an important piece of the puzzle in the construction of the new airport city,” Swedavia explains, referring to the development of the area around the airport.
Stockholm Arlanda has the lowest share of hotel accommodation among the major Nordic airports, pushing Swedavia to develop the future ‘airport city’.
Besides the preliminary agreement with Nordic Choice, in which the aim is to operate it under the Comfort brand, discussions are also underway about the design of the hotel, which will be built adjacent to the passenger terminals.
It will be a 14-floor hotel, mostly for leisure travellers and families in the affordable luxury segment. The focus is on smaller rooms with high quality and a large lounge area for meetings, socialising and relaxation. It will be located next to SkyCity, which has a range of shops and restaurants. Construction is planned to start next summer for an opening in 2019.
