Austrian Airlines makes changes to board

Harry Hohmeister takes over as board chairman

Austrian Airlines has made a change to its supervisory board at its Annual General Meeting. Effective from today, Harry Hohmeister will take over as the board’s chairman.
From July onwards, he will also be responsible for group airlines and logistics on the executive board of the Lufthansa Group, as well as being the CEO of Swiss International Air Lines. Hohmeister has been on the Austrian supervisory board since 2009.
Stefan H Lauer is leaving the Lufthansa Group and withdrew his mandate on the Austrian supervisory board. Wolfgang Mayrhuber, chairman of the supervisory board of Lufthansa, and Nicolai Ingo von Ruckteschell will also no longer be represented on the Austrian board.
Bettina Volkens has been newly voted onto the supervisory board of Austrian Airlines. She will be responsible for corporate human resources and legal affairs on the executive board of Lufthansa from July 1. Paul Schwaiger was also newly voted onto the supervisory board. A native of Austria, he is the CEO of SunExpress Deutschland, a subsidiary of SunExpress, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. Karl Ulrich Garnadt, chairman of the board of Lufthansa Cargo, was also voted onto the Austrian supervisory board.
