BA and Iberia renew Travelport agreement

IAG renews full content agreement for airlines

British Airways and Iberia have renewed their agreement with Travelport, securing distribution on Galileo and Worldspan.

The airlines’ parent company IAG has renewed a full content agreement for both carriers with immediate effect. The deal includes budget airline Iberia Express.

“We are wholly committed to supporting the travel agency channel and we are pleased to have reached a multi-year agreement with Travelport,” said Silvia Cairo, IAG’s head of group commercial planning and policy.

Both airlines are working with Travelport to trial its Rich Content and Branding technology. This allows airlines to control how their content and ancillaries are visually presented and described to travel agents in a manner similar to their own websites.

The agreement follows a war of words between British Airways and the GDS service provider towards the end of 2013.
