Best cruise ships for value listed

Cruise Critic presents “best of” lists for vessels
Cruise Critic presents its latest “best of” lists in the industry. The best cruise ships in various categories were voted for by experienced cruisers, for cruises taken in 2015.
There are 12 award categories, such as Best for Cabins, Best for Dining, Best for Shore Excursions, Best for Families, Best for First Timers and Best Overall. Each category is then subdivided into large, mid-sized and small ships.
In the Best for Value category, Norwegian Spirit takes top place for large ships, with one reviewer saying, “We felt we got good value for what we paid. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cruise.”
It is followed by Island Princess, Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Epic and Celebrity Eclipse.
For mid-sized ships MSC Lirica wins the top spot. A reviewer says: “It was excellent value for money, the staff are just gorgeous, the ports of call fascinating, food is plentiful and varied and lounge areas relaxing and comfortable.”
Other good-value mid-sized ships in the list are Riviera, MSC Armonia, Norwegian Sun and Thomson Spirit.
Among small ships, Viking Star is top, with a cruiser saying, “Viking gives you a lot of value for what you pay for, and does it first class!” It is followed by Silver Spirit, Boudicca, Braemar and Seven Seas Voyager.
