Best Stand Awards revealed at WTM

World Travel Market 2011 continues as best stands announced

Innovation, design, ambience and “quality of the staff” have all been recognised in the hundreds of exhibition stands at the ever-eclectic World Travel Market 2011 in London, which continues until November 10. A panel of industry experts named the winners of the six Best Stand Awards yesterday.
The award for Most Innovative Stand Within the Technology Region was (TT145), thanks to the demonstrations of its product, while Bookassist was given a special mention for its stand’s clear messaging and branding. Best Stand for Interacting with Travel Agents was an award given to the Slovenian Tourist Board (EM520), because of the access to downloadable rather than printed information made available to agents. The award for Best Stand Personnel was given to Poland 2012 – Football FanCamp for its “really welcoming” staff who “encouraged you to participate in all the features available”.
Best Stand Feature was presented to Kerala Tourism (AS 390) for two features – a huge image of a Keralan beach and a real-life fishing net stretching out into the stand as well as a canoe. “The image told the story of the destination perfectly,” said one judge. Best Stand for Doing Business was Tourism Ireland (UK1700) and Best Stand Design was Costa Rica Tourism Board (LA450) for its combination of rainforest sound effects, music and design, which “created the sense of Costa Rica the moment you stepped onto the stand”. The judges also commended the Zanzibar Collection stand (AF594).
