A resort town in Morocco beats other resorts across the Mediterranean in value for money.
A Moroccan resort is better value for money this year than any other European resort, according to new research by a leading UK travel retailer.
Agadir, located on Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast, is renowned for its long crescent beach, golf courses and seaside promenade of cafés, restaurants and bars.
It has been named the best-value destination for 2018 by travel retailer On the Beach, followed by Malta, the Algarve, Kefalonia and Corfu in the top five.
The OTA compared the cost of a one-week summer or winter sun holiday in these and other destinations.
Best for families & all-inclusive
Agadir was also found to be the best for families, in this case consisting of two adults and three children, followed by the Costa Brava, Costa Dorada, Corfu and Algarve.
And it topped the list of cheapest all-inclusive holidays, followed by the Costa Brava, Marsa Alam in south-eastern Egypt and both Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey.
“Our research shows that […] there are many fantastic options, with the Moroccan resort of Agadir offering the very best value,” said On the Beach’s chief marketing officer Alistair Daly.
“All-inclusive holidays are a great option for those wanting to spend less money whilst in resort, and with hoteliers across Europe offering fantastic discounts to people booking their holidays in advance, now is a great time to book your beach holiday.”
