Blue1 announces CPH-Lappeenranta

Strategy is to boost traffic between Finland and Scandinavia

In line with a change in strategy shifting the balance of traffic between Finland and Scandinavia, SAS-owned Blue1 has announced that it will open a new nonstop route from Lappeenranta (Villmanstrand) to Copenhagen from June 1. The airline says that the route has been prepared to complement both SAS and the Star Alliance network. The new route will be flown four times a week with a 115-passenger Boeing 717.
Last weekend, Blue1 opened five new nonstop routes from Finland to Scandinavia, from Vaasa and Oulu to Copenhagen and from Pori, Kokkola / Pietarsaari and Oulu to Stockholm.
