Bombardier delays first flight of CSeries

Manufacturer to make maiden test flight at end of July

Bombardier will now make its maiden test flight for its long-awaited CSeries “by the end of July.” This delay of one month is “based on the latest program review,” the Canadian manufacturer said.
Bombardier says that ground vibration tests, software upgrades and other pre-flight tests have already been completed on the first CSeries flight test aircraft.
However, “In order to enhance the effectiveness of the flight program, Bombardier [has] extended the timeline slightly to allow for additional software upgrades for improved system maturity and functionality.”
