Cannabis is new spa and wellness trend

Wave of recreational marijuana legalisation sweeps USA

One of the top 10 spa and wellness trends for 2015 listed by Spafinder Wellness 365 is cannabis and the plant’s new spa and wellness connections.

A wave of medical and recreational marijuana legalisation is sweeping the USA, while globally Uruguay will be the first nation to legalise recreational usage in 2015. The result will be an explosive “cannabusiness” market, giving this ancient, medicinal plant an upscale makeover, Spafinder Wellness 365 predicts.

Cannabis is moving from “dorm room to boardroom” and new spa and wellness cannabis connections are proliferating. More marijuana dispensaries adopting the look and services of spas are likely, along with more cannabis “wellness tourism” and luxury spa experiences.

There will be new cannabis-branded day spas, more spas using non-high-inducing pain-relieving and beauty products, and hempseed and milk as fashionable superfoods.

As examples, Spafinder mentions Harborside Health Center (Bay Area), one of the many spa-like dispensaries, Primal Wellness, the first “cannabis day spa” (Denver), and yoganja classes at House of Yoga (Toronto).
