Car rentals offer more high-end vehicles

Rent a Maserati, a Lamborghini or a Bentley

Car rental firms are increasingly catering for a new consumer trend – providing corporate and other clients who want to raise their profiles with the option of hiring luxury cars. Ultra high-end status symbols like a Maserati or Lamborghini are now on the fleets of well-known car rental companies.
Elite vehicles that usually sell for princely sums, such as the Ferrari F430 Spider, Lamborghini Gallardo and Bentley Continental GT, can be seen among the usual Kias and Fords.
A “supercar” range was launched on Hertz’s web booking platform last year, unrolled in the US, UK, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. Less than 200 of these cars are on offer in total, but consumers love the idea, Hertz says.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Avis are also expanding their ranges of luxury cars, demand for which appears to increase when times are tough. Customers want to give the impression they are doing well for themselves and be taken more seriously.
