Copenhagen Airport sets new summer record

Airport saw 6.5 million passengers in busiest summer ever

Copenhagen Airport enjoyed its busiest summer ever this year, setting a new record handling precisely 6,552,097 passengers – about 140,000 more than last June, July and August – and 66,009 aircraft movements. There were a number of days when in excess of 85,000 passengers were at the airport. Yet despite the volume of traffic, more than 85% of all flights were on time.
London remains the most popular connection, with 445,000 passengers flying there, followed by Paris with 235,000 passengers and Barcelona with 142,000. Among charter flights, 89,000 people travelled to Antalya and 58,000 to Palma de Mallorca, followed by Chania and Rhodes with 46,500 and 39,000 passengers, respectively.
