Copenhagen cruise tourist flow keeps rising

Existing record of 840,000 likely to be smashed in 2017
Copenhagen is hosting around 740,000 cruise ship tourists this year, according to Cruise Copenhagen Network – 60,000 more than last year.
“Hotels, restaurants and attractions will surely be pleased and I guess some [tourists] will also go out and shop a bit,” the network’s Claus Bødker tells Danish broadcaster DR.
Cruise visitors benefit from the short distance between harbour and city centre and spend about DKK 700 million (€94 million) a year in the Danish capital. Moreover, reservations for 2017 suggest that this year’s figures will be eclipsed next year.
“We can already see that about 850,000 cruise ship tourists will visit the city next year,” Bødker said. That would break the current record of 840,000 in 2012.
