Copenhagen to have “busiest congress year ever”

2016 to break records for conventions and meetings
This coming year will break records for conventions and meetings, the Danish capital’s tourism promotion organisation predicts.
Jonas Wilstrup, conventions director at Wonderful Copenhagen, said as executives from around the world gathered at the AC Forum on January 21-23 that 2016 will be the city’s busiest ever year for MICE events.
“This will be our busiest congress year ever, and the forum is a platform that enables us to leverage Copenhagen as a congress destination in the years to come,” he said.
AC Forum is a networking platform for around 3,000 member associations in the medical and clean-tech industries who organise conventions in different cities.
“Copenhagen is known as a world-class congress destination, providing good infrastructure and the required logistical services for both small and large events,” agreed Daniel Waigl, the forum’s president.
“It is a safe and attractive city, home to strong life science and clean tech industries, which are both of specific interest to our member associations.”
