Cruise line tests “all-you-can-drink” package

Norwegian Cruise Line drinks option priced at $49 a day

Norwegian Cruise Line has joined the list of major cruise operators testing “all-you-can-drink” alcohol packages on board its ships. Passengers now have the option of an all-inclusive drinks package at $49 (€38.50) per person per day (tips not included). The system is being introduced on three of the Miami-based line’s 11 ships – Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Jade.
Carnival is already testing an unlimited drinks package on some of its vessels. Its “My Awesome Bar Program” package costs $42.95 per person per day plus 15% gratuity ($6.44). Individual cocktails on board are typically priced at $10; drinks priced above $10 are not included. Non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price.
Royal Caribbean has had a similar scheme on some ships since last year, Celebrity Cruises since 2010.
