Cruise line to start Game of Thrones tour

Crystal Cruises to create new shore excursion

HBO’s hit TV show Game of Thrones has inspired the luxury line Crystal Cruises to create a new shore excursion. The half-day Enter the Game of Thrones tour will be offered on sailings that pass Northern Ireland, the show’s main filming location.

On a visit to production locations near Belfast, passengers will step into mythical medieval life with a chance to shoot arrows, look at show costumes and see how real castles and towers are turned into film sets for the series.

Passengers will also travel to the location Strangford Lough, a key site for the show’s first and second seasons.

The excursion will be an option on a seven-night British Isles cruise on the Crystal Symphony beginning on August 24 and on a 14-night Ireland, Iceland and New England voyage on the Crystal Serenity starting on September 5.
