Cruise to visit all seven continents

Starting in Fort Lauderdale aboard Silver Whisper, the cruise includes 62 ports in 32 countries.

Luxury line Silversea Cruises has announced its itineraries for winter 2019-20. The 89 voyages to regions like Australasia, Asia, South America and the Caribbean also include a round-the-world cruise that visits all of the globe’s seven continents.

The line says that Silver Whisper will become the first ever ship to visit all seven continents on a world cruise.

Priced at $62,000 per guest, the all-inclusive World Cruise 2020 departs Fort Lauderdale on January 6, taking in 32 countries and 62 ports over 140 days.

Heading south, the ship will sail through the Caribbean to the east-coast cities of South America to eventually reach the Antarctic Peninsula. Then, after heading north to Valparaiso, a westward course will take her to mystical Easter Island, the South Pacific isles and Australia.

Next, guests will explore Asia including stops in Bali, Sri Lanka and Mumbai, before continuing to the ports of the Mediterranean and northern Europe. The only stops in Scandinavia are Bergen, Flåm and the surrounding fjords.

Versatile vessel
“There is no other travel experience that can quite compare to a luxury world cruise,” Silversea writes about the adventure.

“Encircling the globe aboard a smaller ship that can slip into its less common corners is [all] about your experiences, both on and off shore […] experiences that are far more intimate and personal.”

On board, the cruise line highlights that “the lifestyle is one of sheer indulgence, with impeccable service and staples like spacious suites and superb Relais & Châteaux offerings”. There are also “eminent guest lecturers” who share their insights.
