Customs find stinking ape skull in luggage

Skull-carrying passenger hit with double legal blow
Finding the decomposing skull of an ape at Munich airport has resulted in a double enforcement of the rules for customs officers in Germany.
A man arriving from Thailand was found to be carrying the stinking 650-gram, 23-centimetre skull of an ape in his suitcase, which he had apparently bought as a souvenir. It had not been cleaned properly, resulting in the stench.
The owner did not have documentation to show he had obtained the skull legally. Also the fatty deposits still on the skull infringed Germany’s disease control laws. Customs officers confiscated the skull and destroyed it.
