Czech Airlines opens Nordic representation

Airline appoints Discover the World as GSA in Denmark, Sweden

Czech Airlines is opening new representation in Scandinavia. The company has appointed Discover the World as its General Sales Agent throughout Denmark and Sweden, handling sales, marketing and ticketing on behalf of the Czech carrier in the Scandinavian market, effective May 1.

With up to 12 weekly flights connecting Copenhagen with Prague and five weekly flights from Stockholm to Prague, Czech Airlines targets mainly business and leisure city-break travellers. Prague is also used as a hub for destinations in Eastern Europe.

“As Czech flag carrier we have the advantage of Prague’s ideal placement in Central Europe,” Stanislav Zeman, the airline’s sales and marketing director, says. “From our hub we cover a number of Central and East European destinations with fast and easy connections. These are, amongst others, Ostrava, Bratislava, Kosice, Bucharest, Budapest, Kyiv, Yerevan or Tel Aviv. With fast and simple transfer at Vaclav Havel Airport Prague, we are able to offer convenient, time wise air travel from Scandinavia to the final destinations.”

CSA also has options for Scandinavian travellers in terms of long-haul. Together with its shareholder and strategic partner Korean Air, there is a daily direct connection from Prague to Seoul. From Seoul, both airlines offer a number of onward connections to destinations in East Asia and the Pacific.

“[Czech Airlines] is one of the oldest operating airlines in the world, yet they have managed to develop their business making Czech Airlines a modern airline covering most of our passenger’s needs,” said Johnny Schou, Discover the World’s managing director. “We’d like to continue the long-lasting tradition of Czech Airlines connecting Scandinavia and the Czech Republic and will strengthen the airline’s presence on the Scandinavian market through our offices in Copenhagen and Stockholm and a sales presence in both countries. And I can reveal that the popularity of the Czech Airlines product in Scandinavia makes it likely to increase frequencies, especially from Stockholm to Prague.”
