Sofia Wulff, former marketing director at Comwell Hotels, will start on June 1 as head of marketing and communication for the hotel brand Clarion.
In her new role as head of marketing at Clarion Hotels in the Nordic region, Sofia Wulff will become a key player in ensuring that both external and internal stakeholders see and understand Clarion, Standby.dk reports.
This is of particular importance because of planned development in the chain’s business. This year alone, several billion kroner are being invested in developing the brand, which is part of Nordic Choice Hotels.
Wulff has recently been an independent consultant for marketing, branding and business development.
However, she is familiar with the hotel industry from a previous job as marketing director for Comwell Hotels, as well as being a commercial manager at Metronome and PR & marketing manager for Garmin in Denmark.
A good fit
“Sofia has both a broad professional background in marketing and design, as well as commercial experience and experience with product development. She comes with extensive experience in sustainability, as well as a mindset that fits in very well with such a culturally strong company as Clarion and Nordic Choice Hotels,” says Christen Bagger, chief executive of Clarion Hotel in the Nordic region.
“I am looking forward to returning to the hotel industry and helping to make my mark when I, with Clarion’s marketing department, further enhance the awareness of Clarion Hotel. There are ambitious plans for growth and development, and I believe we can surpass them,” Wulff said of her hiring.
Clarion has 35 hotels with over 4,000 employees in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The chain had turnover last year of more than DKK 3 billion (€400 million).
Clarion is part of Nordic Choice Hotels, which also includes the chains Comfort and Quality and a number of independent hotels such as Skt. Petri in Copenhagen and the upcoming Villa Copenhagen.
