Dates for Silversea’s new ship options

Luxury line confirms three ships, if it builds them at all
The luxury cruise line Silversea has confirmed dates for three new ships, if it chooses to exercise its options to build.
Speaking on board the newest ship, Silver Muse, CEO Roberto Martinolo told industry leaders and media that the delivery dates for the new ships would be 2020, 2021 and 2023. But he would not say if the line is planning to give the green light for them.
The ships would be the same size and shape as the 592-passenger Silver Muse, which was delivered to the luxury line on Sunday.
“Ship orders are going through the roof and to find a slot is almost impossible. So we are fortunate enough that if we want to make [Silversea owner] Manfredi [Lefebvre] happy and build three more ships we have the ability to do it because we have the options to do so.”
Lefebvre has said that his father’s dream was to have a fleet of 12 ships. Silver Muse is the ninth.
Martinolo also revealed more about what he called the ‘Muse-isation’ of older and expedition ships, which are getting a collective $170m refurbishment, where for example Muse’s colour scheme, materials and cabins will be added to Silver Cloud.
