Dates set for Thailand’s biggest trade event

Thailand Travel Mart paired with Greater Mekong show

Thailand’s biggest annual B2B tourism and travel trade event has been set for early June and has opened for early-bird registration by buyers and sellers.

The Thailand Travel Mart, paired with Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion, also known as TTM+, will be held at the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 3-5.

It will be organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in cooperation with the Tourism Council of Thailand, the Thai Hotels Association, the Association of Thai Travel Agents, the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association, the Thai Eco Tourism and Adventure Travel Association and tourism business sectors.

It is designed largely to showcase an emerging generation of creative small- and medium-sized enterprises to give them an opportunity to network with international buyers.

This year, the event is expected to be attended by “more than 400 quality sellers” across Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion countries, especially Myanmar. Four niche-market segments – Ecotourism, Health and Wellness, Wedding and Honeymoon and Experience Thainess – will be highlighted in a special pavilion.

“This year’s TTM+ will be an especially important event because of the extensive changes and improvements taking place in the entire regional operating environment,” said TAT Governor Thawatchai Arunyik. “The advent of the ASEAN Community at the end of this year, the growing Asian Highway network, the presence of four bridges across the Mekong River, the opening up of Myanmar, increasing operations of low-cost airlines and our own 2015 Discover Thainess campaign are just a few of the factors that make 2015 a very exciting year for Thai and GMS tourism.”
