Denmark to host world’s biggest sports meeting

Aarhus chosen to host 2017 SportAccord Convention
Thousands of delegates will pour into Aarhus in April 2017 when the Danish city hosts the world’s biggest international sports meeting, the six-day SportAccord Convention.
Following a successful convention held this year in Lausanne, Switzerland, the 15th convention next year will take place on April 2-7 at Aarhus’ Scandinavian Congress Centre.
The SportAccord event is an arena for decision-makers from the world of sports, including a delegation from the Olympic Committee, to meet and network.
“It is quite a scoop that Aarhus will be hosting the world’s largest international event for sport and industry leaders next year,” said Jacob Bundsgaard, mayor of Aarhus. “It provides the city with the opportunity to present the many qualities Denmark and Aarhus have to offer – and for Aarhus in particular, it is a great joy to host the SportAccord Convention while Aarhus is the European Capital of Culture 2017.”
