Design of new Alpine hotel brings outside in

Hotel Valentinerhof blends into the natural landscape
The Hotel Valentinerhof in the Tyrolean Alps blends into the stunning natural landscape that surrounds it, writes design reviewer Lidija Grozdanic in Inhabitat.
“Inserted into the natural landscape and built using traditional building techniques and natural materials, the structures accentuate the interaction of the inside and the outside and feature subtle spatial transitions,” she writes.
The owners of the family-owned, Schlern Mountain-located hotel commissioned the studio noa* to design 14 suites, a wellness centre with infinity pool, bar and restaurant that reinforce the impressive scenery.
The suites at make you feel like you’re sleeping outside. The facade design was inspired by local structures and ancient wooden fences, while floor-to-ceiling windows and wide terraces seem to sink into the surrounding landscape.
