Dubai passenger traffic smashes records

Even more travellers are flying via or to the hub
Dubai is seeing more travellers than ever before, as passenger traffic at Dubai International in July smashed all previous records reaching more than 7.6 million.
The 14% rise to 7,616,792 means that DXB saw 48,123,248 passengers during the first seven months of the year, up 7%.
India was the top destination country in July with 990,213 passengers, followed by the UK (573,025) and Saudi Arabia (475,841). Top destinations are London, Doha, Mumbai, Kuwait and Bangkok.
“This summer was the busiest in DXB’s history with daily traffic averaging a quarter of a million passengers across the three terminals,” said Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports.
The hub is preparing for a further surge in traffic over the coming days as millions observe the Islamic festival of Eid Al Adha and make the annual Haj pilgrimage.
