Early-bird record for corporate and MICE show

Organisers reveal best-ever early-bird sign-up for 2014

Close to 700 square metres of floor space at this year’s IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific exhibition has already been snapped up, the organisers say. Bolstered by the show’s best-ever “early bird” booth sign ups within three months of the 2013 event, eight CVB/NTO-led destinations have already confirmed their presence there.

The list includes first-time exhibitor Cambodia and returning participants South Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Sabah, Taiwan, Thailand and New Zealand.

“IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific 2013 was extremely fruitful,” said the Korean Tourist Office’s Seo Bong Sik, director of incentives and exhibitions. “We achieved over 220 leads through our business meetings at the event.”

He praised the effectiveness of the organisers’ Pre-Scheduled Appointments and Online Diary facilities, allowing him to schedule up to 100% of meetings ahead of the event, as well as the on-site Buyers-Meet-Sellers system.

To be held on September 30 to October 2 this year at the Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld in the Thai capital, Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) and Corporate Travel World (CTW) Asia-Pacific is described as the world’s only double-bill event in MICE and corporate travel. Both events have been co-locating since 2004.

Wanting to capitalise on Korea’s current popularity as a MICE destination, Seo added: “We attracted 240% more MICE tourists compared to the year before. Being at IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific this year is important for us to leverage on this momentum.”
