Eclipse helps airport set records in Faroes

DAT lands biggest passenger aircraft ever in Faroe Islands
As many as 14 different aircraft arrived in the Faroe Islands in connection with the full solar eclipse on March 20. This is a record for the airport.
Atlantic Airways put in extra aircraft to cope up with the demand. In addition, there were other operators that landed at the islands’ Vagar Airport, among them the UK charter carrier Titan Airways with a Boeing 737-300 and Danish Air Transport with its MD83.
DAT’s MD83 also set a record as the plane is the biggest passenger aircraft ever to land in the Faroe Islands.
