Egypt is looking to boost cultural tourism with longer opening hours. The scheme is designed to especially encourage cultural tourism to sites in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens.
The country’s Ministry of State for Antiquities has agreed to keep areas such as the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Ramesseum and the Luxor Temple open from 6am to 11pm during the summer season and from 6am to 9pm during winter.
