Barcelona’s meetings exhibition sees 4% increase in buyer applications

With a 4% increase in accepted applications ten weeks from the event, EIBTM is ready for its best-ever year of business. The travel trade event expects to see over 3,800 hosted buyers to attend this year. Research shows that 47% of those attending EIBTM 2010 had annual meetings budgets of over $1 million. The international meetings and events exhibition in Barcelona has also seen a 48% increase in accepted buyers from the UK compared to this time last year. Key countries including Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Russia have seen a significant increase in accepted applications.
Benefits for hosted buyers include complimentary flights and accommodation, transfers and a personal diary of pre-scheduled appointments. Buyers also gain access to networking functions and lounges.
