Emirates fights negative image with PR campaign

New ad campaign claims that it is creating thousands of jobs in Europe

In an effort to battle against negative perceptions that it is allegedly using Dubai state subsidies to unfairly boost its share of the market in Europe, Emirates has launched a large-scale advertising campaign in the UK. In the campaign it says it is creating thousands of jobs and investing substantial sums across Europe. Emirates’ orders for 90 more A380s – 38% of all A380 commitments – has helped to create more than 16,000 jobs in France, more than 13,000 in both the UK and Germany and more than 6,000 in Spain, the airline says.
