Emirates to seek compensation from Airbus

Airline losing USD$90 million by end March due to groundings

As the world’s biggest operator of the A380, Emirates now says it will seek compensation from Airbus after an expected loss of revenue due to the groundings of the aircraft type that began in January. Tim Clark, the airline’s president, has said Emirates expects that the groundings will cost it up to USD$90 million by the end of March.
“From a commercial point of view, it’s a dreadful experience,” he told The Financial Times. “It has caused a lot of commercial hardship and we are not very happy with the way this has gone.”
