Europe museum attendance highest in Nordics

But museum attendance in Estonia grew by 24% in 2011

Norway and Sweden are highest in Europe for museum attendance figures per 100,000 inhabitants, according to data by Egmus.eu. However, Estonia beats them into first place for the ratio of number of museums per head of population, with 19 museums per 100,000 Estonian inhabitants.
While museum stats remain fairly steady in Scandinavia, museum attendance in Estonia grew by 24% in 2011 and 30% compared to the average for the five previous years. This record attendance is probably due in part to Tallinn being European Capital of Culture in 2011.
