Eurostar rail workers to strike in August

Union members to walk out for seven days over two weekends
Rail workers at Eurostar, the high-speed railway service linking London with Brussels, Paris, Avignon, Lille, Lyon and Marseille, will strike for seven days during August.
Members of the UK’s Rail, Maritime and Transport union will not work from 00:01 on Friday August 12 until 23:59 on Monday August 15 and for three days over the holiday weekend from August 27.
The union said the dispute is over failure by Eurostar to honour an agreement ensuring that train managers can expect a good work-life balance in terms of unsocial hours. It is the third labour dispute to erupt on the UK’s railways this week following action on other lines.
