Eurowings and union agree wage deal

Union: “Very good result for all flight attendants at Eurowings”
Lufthansa Group’s low-cost subsidiary Eurowings and the cabin crew union Verdi have agreed on a pay increase for 460 cabin crew. The agreement expires on March 31, 2019.
Crew get a 2.5% raise backdated to October 1 of this year, a further 2.5% in October 2017 and another 1.25% increase in October 2018. The deal is subject to a member vote.
“This is a very good result for all flight attendants at Eurowings,” Verdi’s federal commissioner Christine Behle said.
Dusseldorf-based Eurowings will also offer this deal to the UFO flight attendant union. Flight attendants represented by UFO called off a two-day strike at the end of October. They had already been on a 24-hour strike on October 27, resulting in 393 cancellations out of 551 scheduled flights for that day, affecting 40,000 passengers.
