Finnish travel expo Matka comes with Matka Pro
The Finnish travel trade expo Matka will be taking place once again early in the new year, on January 17-21, with a busy professional element to the event planned.
The most recent edition had 78,000 visitors, up 15% from 2016, making it the largest travel trade fair in the Nordic region, with a 15% increase also in professional travel trade visitors.
Held at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre, Matka will be sprawled across 10,000 square metres and there will be 940 exhibitors from over 55 countries.
There will also be Matka Pro, which is the new name for the Matka Nordic Travel Fair professional and B2B exhibitor program. It launched in January 2017, after which it was decided to further develop the program to be a stable part of the overall fair.
The B2B solutions include a Matka Workshop Day, a Matka Business Forum and a seminar program for trade professionals, all with the Matka Pro prefix.
The whole world will be there, and marketing director Teemu Mikkonen, 30 (pictured), is convinced that face-to-face meetings and networking are “the new normal” if you want to do good business at a travel trade.
