Finnair targets foodies with new route

Now even more flights between Helsinki and Asia
Finnair opened its direct route between Helsinki and Fukuoka in Japan on Saturday, with three weekly frequencies.
Located in southwestern Japan, not far from the coast of South Korea, Fukuoka is a popular tourist destination for the Japanese who enjoy its pleasant weather, architecture, shopping and – first and foremost – the delicious food. The city is known as the mecca of Japanese street cuisine.
Helsinki Airport has a total of 17 connections to Asia in 2016, making it the fifth largest airport in Europe in that regard. The Finnish airport is also the biggest hub in Europe for the number of routes to Japan; Helsinki offers routes to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and now Fukuoka.
