Finnair wins top travel award

Finnair among 82 winners of TTG Travel Awards

Finnair has won a 24K gold-plated signature Hermes trophy at this year’s TTG Travel Awards in Bangkok, an annual event organised by TTG Asia Media’s Travel Trade Publishing group.

Receiving the award was Allister Paterson, Finnair’s new CCO, who joined the airline just eight months ago and has a background in senior leadership positions at Air New Zealand and Air Canada.

He told TTG Nordic: “It is a great honour. This award usually goes to the biggest European airlines. All the staff at Finnair are happy and proud, and it shows how staff dedication can also reach through to all of our partners in the travel trade in Asia.”

The TTG Travel Awards have been recognising the best of Asia-Pacific’s travel industry since 1989. This year, a new record of 120,000 valid votes was gathered during a two-month period from print and online subscribers of the group’s six titles: TTG Asia, TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTG-BTmice China and TTG Asia Luxury.

Besides Finnair, the 82 winners of the 2013 awards include Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways, IHG, The Peninsula Hotels, Ibis Hotels, a wide range of luxury hotels and resorts, spas, MICE companies, travel agencies, individuals, and new inductees to the Travel Hall of Fame.
