Wynn Resorts Encore Boston Harbor has opened its doors as the first casino in the US city.
Encore Boston Harbor has officially opened its doors in the Boston, Massachusetts area in the neighbouring city of Everett.
With a total of $2.6 billion invested, it is the country’s most expensive resort development of 2019, featuring a casino, 15 dining and lounge venues and 671 guest rooms and suites including New England’s largest standard hotel rooms.
The facility also provides both indoor and outdoor event space, a spa and a four-season “Harborwalk” with pedestrian and bike paths, picnic park, gazebo, viewing decks, waterfront dining and green space with floral displays.
The resort also offers 15 dining and lounge concepts, ranging from fine to fast-casual.
Bridging the harbour between Boston and Everett with a water transportation system, the full-service resort is “reshaping travel and tourism to the Boston region with the best in upscale accommodations, amenities and gaming”.
Situated on the waterfront along the Mystic River and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore
Boston Harbor claims to have opened up the city of Everett’s shoreline to the public for the first time in more than a century.
And through a water transportation system, custom-built Encore Premium Harbor Shuttles
transport guests year-round from Boston directly to the resort.
Additionally, park-and-ride services are available from select locations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and complimentary shuttle services are offered from nearby train stations directly to the resort.
The company says it encourages guests to visit the resort via public transportation and has
introduced new, high-quality services to make that easy. These services extend throughout the
region and run day and night, providing travel options for guests coming from Greater
Boston, Eastern Massachusetts or out of state.
More than 5,000 visitors were already queued for the opening of the doors on Sunday, June 23, with four arrests reported throughout the first day at the resort.
