First delivery of Sukhoi Superjet in W Europe

Carrier based at London City takes delivery of Superjet
CityJet, an Irish regional airline that operates mainly out of London City Airport, is the first western European carrier to take delivery of a Sukhoi Superjet 100.
The 89-seat Superjet 100 is being pitched to compete with planes made by Embraer and Bombardier. The first of 15 to be leased by CityJet was delivered in Venice, in a $1 billion deal including servicing, with an option for 16 more.
The new aircraft type is the first Russian-designed passenger plane to be built since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Its reputation was damaged in 2012 when one of the planes crashed in Indonesia during a promotional flight. Investigators blamed that on pilot error.
