First-ever space hotel to open in five years

Russian company to unveil Commercial Space Station in 2016

The first space hotel in history is expected to open to guests in 2016. The Russian company Orbital Technologies says that the Commercial Space Station, drifting 400 kilometres above the Earth, will be to accommodate up to seven tourists at a time. Stays can last for anything from three days to six months. Beforehand, guests will take on special training of up to three months.
But will there be much to do up there? There will be the same access to the Internet and other communications as are available on the ground. Meals will be prepared and sealed and travel up to the space station, dehydrated, with the guests who order them. There will be wet wipes instead of showers and there won’t be any alcohol.
