First SIA flight lands at Stockholm

Singapore Airlines adds second Scandinavian city
Singapore Airlines has added a second Scandinavian city to its route network, with the first flight arriving in Stockholm yesterday. Operating five times a week from Singapore, SQ362 flies to Stockholm via Moscow.
This will complement SIA’s existing flights to Copenhagen, boosting connectivity between Southeast Asia and northern Europe and meeting what the airline says is rising demand for travel between Southwest Pacific and this part of Europe.
The route is being served with a new Airbus A350-900, with features like higher ceilings, larger windows, an extra wide body and lighting designed to reduce jetlag.
The plane is fitted with 253 seats, 42 of which are in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class and 187 in Economy Class. The airline says that the A350 will form a key part of its fleet in the years ahead.
The first flight to Stockholm departed Singapore Changi at 00:33 local time on May 30 and arrived at Stockholm Arlanda at 08:59 local time the same day.
Customers on the inaugural flight were treated to music performances and Swedish-themed refreshments at a special boarding gate event just before the flight. Passengers received a commemorative certificate, an exclusive goodie bag containing a batik luggage belt with weighing scale and a Dala Horse cosmetic pouch. On arrival at Arlanda, the aircraft was greeted by water cannon salute and an event at the gate.
