Flybe: CFO and board members resign

Airline’s chief financial officer since 2007 departs

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and a major partner of Finnair on European routes, has only just appointed a new chief executive. Now it says its chief financial officer since 2007, Andrew Knuckey, has resigned.

Along with the departure of the CFO, Flybe said that three board members – director of corporate strategy, managing director of outsourcing solutions and managing director of Flybe UK – would step down from the board with immediate effect.

Flybe’s new CEO, former easyJet and Air Berlin executive Saad Hammad, took charge on August 1. The airline has also appointed a new chief commercial officer, Paul Simmons – also a former director at easyJet – effective from October 28.

Flybe has implemented major restructuring in recent months, cutting 590 jobs and planning to quit its main London hub at Gatwick airport.
